Welcome to eThekwini Municipality online electricity application. As part of customer service improvements and to further increase efficiencies, Energy Management Directorate is actively modernising its service delivery platforms by making full use of new and emerging technologies to broaden the range of service delivery channels offered to our customers to improve customer engagement and to boost productivity.

The aim of this new online platform is to improve the process of applying for electricity related services and to ensure that transparent, efficient and accurate application process is followed. Under this initiative, our customers can apply for new electricity connection, make changes to existing connection, request tariff change, track application progress, download quotations and many more offerings.

Applicant will effectively receive application reference number as soon as application is submitted online. Our aim is to provide our customers with the services they require in as short time as possible. However, the timeframes for connections will vary depending on the availability of electrical infrastructure in the area and the workload. To enhance our feedback process, customers are able to track progress of their application as it goes through different stages of the application process.

Before you begin the application process, please take note of and familiarise yourself with the requirements for each of the following sections: Applicant details, Property details, Supply details, Contractor details and Supporting documents. You may need to consult with your electrical representative for the required technical details.
